Rufus

Rufus is a 9-month-old, 30 lb male Labrador Retriever mix who was rescued from a tough situation as a small puppy. He is shy and needs a patient family to help him feel safe and loved. Rufus would thrive in a home with another dog to show him the ropes, as he currently lives with a pack of eight dogs and does well with them. He is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

Ideal Home

Rufus needs a family with a fenced-in yard where he can feel secure. He will need time to decompress and adjust to his new surroundings and will do best with a patient family who can help him build confidence.

Ongoing Health

Rufus is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Rufus is a shy boy who will need gentle guidance and positive reinforcement to help him blossom. He would benefit from having a confident canine companion to help him learn and feel more comfortable.

Transportation

Rufus is currently in Puerto Rico but will fly to Chicago, Illinois once adopted. Adopters must be able to travel to Chicago to pick him up.
