About Annie
Annie is a sweet, spunky 4-month-old Shih Tzu and poodle mix pup, currently weighing 8 lbs. She's expected to reach around 20 lbs when fully grown. Annie is an affectionate and loving companion who absolutely adores being doted on. Her curious nature means she's always the first to investigate new toys, sounds, and people. She's observant and confident, thriving on exploring the world around her. Annie is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and furry friends, making her the perfect pup for an active family that enjoys including their dog in everyday life. Her laid-back demeanor means she can adapt easily to different environments and enjoys family adventures. She's always happy as long as she's with her humans, whether playing with other dogs, cuddling, or chasing toys in the yard. Annie has a perfect balance of playful energy and relaxed cuddle bug vibes. She enjoys running, playing, and exploring, but also loves spending time with her people and soaking up cuddles. She's also great at entertaining herself while her foster mom works from home.
Ideal Home
Annie would thrive in a home where she can be included in daily life and receive plenty of love, exercise, and attention. She'd love a fenced yard for running and playing, and she'd do well with another playful, friendly dog and children to play with. Alternatively, she'd be happy as the "only child," receiving all the love and affection. She would love to have fun adventures going on outings around town or visiting Sniff Spots for enrichment. She would love if her human works from home or works a hybrid schedule, but cannot go 8+ hours without playtime and potty breaks, so a dog sitter or daycare is recommended if you have longer days at work occasionally. Public dog parks are not recommended.
Ongoing Health
Annie is starting to teethe, so her humans will need to keep a watchful eye to ensure she doesn't chew on inappropriate items.
Training & Support
Annie is kennel trained and potty trained, and has started on leash training. She sleeps in her kennel at night with no fuss and naps in her kennel during the day with the door open. She alerts her foster family when she needs to go outside by circling at the back door. It is recommended to use a doggy doorbell to help her learn to notify you when she needs to go outside. She needs a consistent schedule and to be taken out every few hours initially until she adjusts to a new routine in a new environment, but she picks up quickly. She would love to snuggle up in bed with her humans at night. She will need additional practice to perfect her leash walking skills.
