Meet Gianna, a 96-pound brindle beauty with a big personality and an even bigger heart! Found as a stray, Gianna has overcome a lot and is now showing everyone how ready she is for her next chapter. She absolutely loves toys and is a people-dog through and through, forming deep bonds with her humans and wanting to be a part of their everyday lives. She's a loyal shadow, a toy enthusiast, a car-ride copilot, an expert storm sleeper, and a truly wonderful best friend.
Ideal Home
Gianna would do best in a home with older children due to her size and ongoing training with taking treats politely. She gets along with dogs, but requires slow introductions and their food to be managed separately. She has shown no interest in cats but has had limited exposure, so slow, carefully supervised introductions are recommended.
Ongoing Health
Gianna recently underwent surgery related to the effects of repeated breeding and has healed beautifully. Her adopter should be aware of her history and continue appropriate veterinary follow-up. All dogs adopted from this rescue are up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed or neutered, though some exceptions may apply.
Training & Support
Gianna is a rockstar with her training! She walks nicely on a loose leash, goes into her crate on command, and is reliably potty trained, indicating her needs and having no indoor accidents. She also has a great recall, both inside and out, and settles well in the house, not being destructive beyond her toys. She rides well in the car and absolutely loves car rides! While she has made wonderful progress with her food manners, her meals and high-value treats should still be managed separately from other dogs. Consistency and continued reinforcement of the progress she has already made will be key to her continued success.
