Duncan

Duncan is the sweetest little boy, approximately 1 year old and weighing around 19 lbs. He's a charming mix, with DNA showing a typical multiple breed mix with a lot of Chihuahua! He loves to play with his squeaky toys, enjoys receiving pets and lots of attention, and is generally a quiet and well-behaved companion. He seems to be pretty well house-trained and does pretty well on a leash, though he could benefit from a little more training.

Ideal Home

Duncan gets along with other dogs and would likely be a wonderful addition to a home looking for a playful and affectionate companion. However, we do not adopt to families with children under the age of 8 years.

Ongoing Health

Duncan tested positive for heartworms when he was rescued. He has completed treatment according to The American Heartworm Society protocols, and we typically see dogs test negative within 4 to 6 months. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines (including Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, and Canine Influenza), and on monthly preventatives for heartworms, fleas/ticks, and parasites.

Training & Support

While Duncan is a well-behaved boy who is doing pretty well on leash and seems mostly house-trained, he could benefit from some additional leash training.
