REX, a.k.a Rexie the Bestie - a volunteer favorite

Meet Rex, also known as Rexie the Bestie! This handsome, bubbly, and outgoing 68 lb Black Lab mix was born around September 2020. Rex loves to run and play, has mastered the "sit" for treats, and is always looking for a good cuddle session. He absolutely thrives on praise and will shower you with kisses 24/7! Rex is a favorite among our volunteers, especially since he's such a master snuggler – he truly believes he's a lap dog, despite his nearly 70 lb frame!

Rex was rescued as a stray and has had a tough start. He's overcome some past betrayals and is now ready to find his forever family to share all his love with. He's done wonderfully at adoption events, even accompanying volunteers to a lively watch party at a local bar and enjoying dinners out with his best buddy Bambi, where he patiently people-watched under the table.

Ideal Home

Rex is dog selective. He enjoys the company of female dogs and is friendly with male dogs after proper introductions.

Ongoing Health

Rex is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.

Training & Support

Rex is kennel and potty trained. He is eager to please and loves positive reinforcement. He is eligible for 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.

Transporation

Rex is located in Houston, Texas. Transport is included in the adoption fee and is available to nearby towns and states, as well as further distances to Eastern and Western states. We coordinate with ground transport services that operate weekly or bi-weekly. Adopters can track the transport van using the Life360 app and receive updates. Facebook chats are also available for tracking information.
