Hi, my name is Benji and I am from Missouri!

From his foster: Benji is a cuddle bug who will worm his way into your heart!

He was shy at first but has really come out of his shell. He selected his main human and gives that person his utmost attention. Benjii will follow you around the house to ensure your safety and looks for every chance to snuggle. He gets along with everyone he meets. Benji is good with our cat and other foster dogs. He sticks right by your side on walks but is shy when coming across new people. We brush his fluffy hair everyday and he barely sheds.

He would thrive in a quiet home with older kids and adults. Best of all, his little tongue sticks out when you scratch his belly.

From the Vet: Benji has been under the care of The Bond Between for a few months now while we address a few medical concerns. He will certainly need a special home, but he is now well managed for his conditions. The things he was working through during his time with us included some anemia, skin related issues, and persistent anxiety with associated vomiting and regurgitation. His management includes a hydrolyzed protein prescription food, however there may be a time in his life he could transition to an over the counter sensitive skin and stomach food. We determined that he does best in a calm, quiet home with a consistent diet and routine, so a house with people able to provide a slow and compassionate transition into his new home will be the best fit! Because he has a tendency toward anxiety in new situations he may regress in the first few days, but we have full confidence that with a month or two of working through his new normal, he will be a great addition to the family!
