Meet Foxy! This smart, 40-pound boy has overcome a lot and is now ready to find his forever family. Foxy is house-trained, crate-trained, and has excellent manners once he feels comfortable. He's a fantastic walking partner and thrives with a predictable routine. His foster has worked hard to help him build trust, and Foxy is blossoming with confidence and learning new things daily. He likely has a mix of herding and companion breeds in him, giving him an athletic, medium-sized build perfect for both adventures and cuddles. Foxy bonds deeply with his people and is eager to please those he trusts.
Ideal Home
Foxy needs a dog-savvy, experienced adopter who understands that building trust takes patience. An active home that enjoys outdoor activities like hikes and walks would be ideal. He's not suited for a home with young children due to his sensitivity to sudden movements and loud environments. He would do best with another confident, balanced dog who can model good behavior and help him feel more secure, as his initial reaction to new dogs can stem from anxiety and overexcitement.
Ongoing Health
Foxy has received comprehensive veterinary care including spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, DHPP vaccination, flea treatment and deworming, and rabies vaccination.
Training & Support
Foxy's biggest challenge is meeting new dogs, often appearing reactive due to anxiety and overexcitement. With patience and continued positive-reinforcement training, he is learning to manage these situations and enjoy the company of other dogs. His adopter should be prepared to continue this training and provide a structured, supportive environment.
