About Nayra

Hi there! My name is Nayra and I'm an 11-week-old, 7.2 lb (as of 7/13/26) female Lab mix who is ready to find my forever home! My siblings and I had a wonderful time growing up together in Puerto Rico with our mama Nyla, but now it's time for us to go our separate ways and find our perfect families in the DC area. I love to play with my toys and get my zoomies out, and I'm also a big fan of snuggles between playtimes. I'm eager to explore my new neighborhood on walks and would love to make some doggie friends along the way. I'm also ready to show you how smart I am by attending a puppy obedience class or two! My foster mom says I'm the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. I enjoy carrying my plush toys around and am happy to just sit with my favorite person, happily chewing away. While my siblings might be busy wrestling, I'd often rather hang out with a calm sibling or soak up all the attention from my humans. I love being picked up and held, and your lap is my favorite spot for a nap. Like any puppy, I'm in my nibbly, mouthy stage and am working on potty training. I'm sweet, snuggly, and full of personality, and I'm ready to bring lots of love (and a few puppy antics!) to my forever home.

Ideal Home

I'm looking for a home where I can play with toys and get my zoomies out, and where I'll receive plenty of snuggles. I'd also love to make doggie friends and explore my new neighborhood on walks. As a puppy under 6 months old, I will need multiple potty breaks and exercise throughout the day. If you have a standard 8-hour workday, please be prepared to make arrangements to meet my needs.

Ongoing Health

I've had age-appropriate vaccines, but it's the adopter's responsibility to ensure I receive my remaining puppy vaccines on schedule. Until I'm fully vaccinated, I'm at a greater risk for illness than an adult dog. I have not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, this must be done no later than November 4, 2026, with no exceptions or extensions.

Training & Support

I'm currently working on potty training and am in my nibbly, mouthy stage. I'll also need to go to obedience school to grow into a well-socialized dog!
