About William Wallace

William Wallace is a brave and curious pup who has come a long way from his beginnings! He was born on a ranch in Central Texas and grew up around Boer goats, longhorn cattle, and a large, free-roaming pack of livestock guardian dogs. When William Wallace and his littermates were first rescued, they were quite fearful of humans. However, with time and gentle encouragement, they've learned that people can be kind. William Wallace earned his name for being the first puppy in his group to venture out and explore. He spent some valuable time in a foster home, where he received a great start on house-training, potty-training, and crate-training. He also had positive introductions to other dogs and even a cat. He's now back at our home base, continuing his journey with exposure to goats, barn cats, and more livestock guardian dogs. He recently had a small, benign lump surgically removed from his neck, which allowed him to recover indoors and get more practice with crate-training and introductions to new doggy friends.

Ideal Home

William Wallace would thrive in a home that understands the needs of a growing livestock guardian dog. He is still learning to love his leash and will need continued practice with leash-walking.

Ongoing Health

William Wallace recently had a benign histiocytoma removed from his neck. He is otherwise healthy and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

William Wallace is still working on leash-walking and will need consistent positive reinforcement to build his confidence. Continued crate-training and socialization with other dogs will also be beneficial.
