Lou is a 7-year-old, 60-pound Lab/Pit mix with a goofy heart and a sensitive soul. He's quirky, loving, curious, and playful, and he takes his sunbathing very seriously. He loves lounging in the yard, rotating between sunny and shady spots, going for neighborhood walks, heading out on hikes, chasing sticks, playing tug, and curling up for pets, scratches, cuddles, and belly rubs. His friends call him Louie or Lou-dog.

Ideal Home

Lou should go to a calm, active, adult-only home with people who understand sensitive dogs and are comfortable managing resources. He would love a yard where he can sunbathe, sniff, and supervise the world from a cozy spot. He'd be happiest with people who enjoy quieter adventures, mountain time, familiar routines, and plenty of belly rubs. A home with mature older teens may be okay if the home is quiet, respectful, and well managed.

Training & Support

Lou is house-trained and good when he's home alone. He rides well in the car when he has his own space. He knows sit, stay, down, wait, place, and sometimes come. He does need thoughtful management around high-value treats and toys because he can guard things that feel important to him. He has snapped before, without causing injury, so his future family should be comfortable giving him space and helping him succeed. Lou can get excited and may jump or bark when overstimulated by new visitors or loud noises.
