About Luke, I'm all ears

Luke is a handsome fellow with a shiny jet black coat, white on his chest, and the pointiest ears you've ever seen, reminiscent of "Spock"! This approximately 15-month-old mix of Labrador Retriever, American Pit Bull Terrier, and German Shepherd has a bright white smile and one ear that stands up most of the time. Luke and his sister Leia were found roaming and struggling to find food and shelter for weeks. They were rescued, and after an initial period of relying heavily on each other, they have been working with a trainer to become more independent. Luke is a sweetheart who loves pets and belly rubs and enjoys his walks.

Ideal Home

Luke would thrive in a home with a yard to play in and a cool place to lounge. He would also benefit from having a canine companion, as he grew up with his sibling and enjoys playing with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Luke is heartworm negative, neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Luke is potty trained and crate trained for naps and nighttime. He is learning to use bells on the door for potty breaks. He still has puppy energy and enjoys digging, chewing, and playing. He responds well to a "dog whistle" if play gets too rough. He has a sweet disposition, is not food aggressive, and learns quickly.
