Odie - Utah

Odie is a good-natured, affectionate young dachshund boy who wants to lay his head in your lap and hang out with you on the sofa. He also likes curling up with other dogs in the home and would be in heaven if allowed to sleep with his owners in the big bed. He came into rescue after being hit by a car and had a fractured right rear femur. His vet says the leg is as good as new after an expensive surgery. Odie is 2 years old and about 24 pounds. He loves other non-alpha dogs, and would benefit from another furry companion. He doesn't chase the cat downstairs, so he might be okay with cats. He hasn't been walked much by his elderly former foster, so as a young, strong boy, he would really love a chance to explore and get exercise. He's got longer legs than usual, so he may be okay with a few stairs in the home.

Ideal Home

Odie would love a home where he can snuggle up on the sofa and sleep in the big bed with his people. He would benefit from having another dog companion and may be okay with cats.

Ongoing Health

Odie had a fractured right rear femur that required surgery, but his vet has confirmed his leg is now as good as new. Mixed breeds tend to have fewer genetic health problems.

Training & Support

Odie is a young, strong boy who hasn't been walked much and would love opportunities for exercise and exploration.
