Meet Herbie! This charming Feist mix was rescued from Mississippi after a rough start in life, but he's blossomed into a happy, healthy pup thanks to love and good food. Herbie is a social butterfly who adores everyone he meets, always ready with kisses and a desire for ear scratches. He's a true shadow dog, eager to be by your side.

Ideal Home

Herbie thrives with plenty of mental and physical stimulation, so he'd do best with active owners who can keep his smart brain and busy body engaged. He loves wrestling with dog siblings, playing with toys, and a good game of tug. He would do best with a dog-savvy cat, but due to his prey drive, he's not recommended for homes with small animals.

Ongoing Health

Herbie came into rescue underweight and has since gained a healthy amount of weight. He is currently up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations.

Training & Support

Herbie is crate trained and house-trained, doing great with consistent potty breaks. He's making good progress on leash training and has excellent recall. True to his hunting breed roots, Herbie can be alert to sounds and movement and may bark, but he's doing a great job minimizing this with redirection and verbal cues.
