Hi there! I’m Lucy, a 5-year-old, 45-pound Poodle mix with a heart as big as my love for people. I came to rescue as an owner surrender and, to be honest, I was a bit of a mess. I had fleas, skin and ear infections, and was missing a lot of fur. But thanks to some wonderful care, I'm feeling so much better and ready to focus on what truly matters: loving my humans!
I absolutely adore being close to my people – personal space is overrated! I’ll follow you from room to room, keep you company, and gently nudge you with my paw if I feel I haven't received enough admiration lately. I'm crate trained, housetrained, and I'm working on my manners and basic commands. I'm a quick learner, especially when love and treats are involved. I also get along with other dogs and cats, so I could be a great addition to a multi-pet household. I do need a physically fenced yard because I take my zoomies very seriously!
I've learned how wonderful it is to be loved and cared for, and now I really prefer not to be alone for long periods. I can get a little anxious when my foster family leaves, but I’m on Clomipramine, which has been a huge help in keeping me relaxed and settled. It’s an affordable medication, and I might not need it forever.
My dream home would be one where people are around often. I'm looking for someone who wants a constant companion, a shadow with fur, and a best friend who thinks you’re the center of the universe. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and wonderfully clingy dog who will adore you endlessly, I might just be your girl!
