Rufus has the kindest eyes that seem to hold a lifetime of stories, and a scruffy charm that makes you want to offer him endless cuddles. This 2-year-old, 15 lb Yorkie/Lhasa Apso mix is currently a little underweight, but we expect him to fill out to a healthy 18-20 lbs. He's a sweet, trusting soul who is ready to leave his past behind and find a forever family to cherish him. Rufus was unfortunately abandoned at an apartment complex and had to fend for himself for several days before a kind stranger stepped in to help. Despite his rough start, Rufus has remained incredibly loving and eager to connect. He's a true "Velcro dog," happiest when he's by your side, whether that's snuggled on the couch, following you from room to room, or fitting perfectly onto your lap. His gentle nature and easygoing disposition make him a pure delight.

Rufus is looking for a true companion – someone who wants a loyal sidekick, a cozy couch buddy, and an enthusiastic walking partner. He deserves a family who will shower him with the love and security he's always deserved.
Ongoing Health
Rufus is expected to reach a healthy weight of 18-20 lbs once he is fully recovered. As a Yorkie/Lhasa Apso mix, he will likely need regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and free of tangles.
Training & Support
Rufus is crate trained and settles well. He still has a playful side and may occasionally offer gentle play nibbles. He's also working on his house training, which we believe will improve with a consistent routine and after his recent neuter.
