Rufus was found as a stray, but even when he was a mess, his tail never stopped wagging. Now cleaned up and safe, he's revealed his true colors: he's a joyful, clever, and affectionate pup who just wants to love and be loved. At 22 pounds, he's the perfect size for cuddles without being too fragile. His favorite thing in the world? Belly rubs, of course!
Ideal Home
Rufus would thrive in a home with active humans who can appreciate his exuberance. He loves other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion to play with, but he could also be an only dog if his humans are around a lot. Due to his high energy and enthusiasm for life, Rufus is best suited for a home with no children under 10.

Rufus is a smart boy who knows "sit" and comes when called. He's crate trained and house-trained, as long as he's kept on a regular schedule. He's always eager to learn and wants to be a good boy. While he's not naughty, he is exuberant, so he'll benefit from a patient owner who understands he may need a little time to adjust and settle into his new home.

Transporation
Rufus is currently located in Houston, TX. We arrange transport for our "out of town" pets to a location near you. Once your application is approved, we can arrange a FaceTime session to meet him. He will travel via a professional transport service with experienced drivers who will provide real-time updates on his journey.
