Meatball is a friendly, affectionate guy who is more than ready to roll on out of the rescue and into a home of his own. He has a real zest for life and brings a bright, goofy energy everywhere he goes. His favorite things include tennis balls above all else, squeaky toys, Kongs, tasty snacks, and stretching out for a good lounge session. He genuinely enjoys people and seeks out affection whenever he can. He's a handsome hunk with so much personality and heart, and he’s going to make a fantastic companion for someone who appreciates a fun-loving dog with a whole lot of charm.
Ideal Home
We recommend that Meatball be the only dog in his home. He can be a bit protective of items he considers high value, so a home that can help him navigate that with structure and consistency will set him up for success. He would do best in a semi-active home with humans aged 16 and older.
Ongoing Health
Meatball is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, micro-chipped, tested for heartworm, on monthly heartworm preventative medication, and de-wormed.
Training & Support
Meatball knows "sit" and his name. He has been trained using positive reinforcement and has worked on "leave it" and "stay." He has also been gently trained to lay down and to take treats from the floor and your hand more gently. With time, training, and comfortability, he may be capable of being around other dogs, but he's currently showing us that interacting with other dogs can be overwhelming for him.
