Dex is a 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is smart, loyal, and affectionate. He bonds deeply with his people and is happiest when he feels included and secure in his home. Dex loves to play, especially tug of war and games of catch, and he plays well with dogs of all sizes. He is patient, respectful, and thoughtful in his interactions, backing off immediately if another dog isn't interested in playing.
Dex is excellent on leash, walking calmly without pulling and showing no reactivity to other dogs. He is very intelligent, eager to learn, and responds well to training. He enjoys structure and likes having a job to do. Dex is fully house-trained and crate-trained, going right into his crate when asked and sleeping quietly through the night. He can also be left out in the house without destructive behaviors once his energy needs are met.
Ideal Home
Dex would thrive in a home with adult adopters who enjoy walks and outdoor time. He is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals due to his strong prey drive. He would also do best in an adult-only home or with dog-savvy teens who understand boundaries, as he can take time to warm up and may growl when unsure around children.
