Parker is a quiet, gentle, and easygoing boy who takes life at his own pace. He has a soft presence and a calm nature that can bring a sense of grounding to any home. Estimated to be around 2 years old and weighing 21 lbs, Parker appears to be a Portuguese Podengo, though breed and age are best guesses with rescue dogs. He truly shines in the company of other dogs and has been comfortable in his foster home with multiple canine companions from day one. He's polite, gives a quick sniff, and then goes about his business, content to be part of the pack without needing to be the center of attention.
Ideal Home
Parker would thrive in a multi-dog household where he can take his cues from confident, friendly dogs. He would also do well in a calmer, lower-traffic apartment environment or a house with a yard where he can explore at his own pace. He needs a patient and understanding home that will give him the space to decompress and adjust slowly.
Ongoing Health
Parker is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable, and a heartworm test. He has a clean bill of health for travel.
Training & Support
Parker is house-trained and sleeps through the night. While he is shy with new people and takes affection slowly, he allows handling without issue and shows no signs of aggression. He is still building confidence on leash and can find new environments a bit overwhelming, but he handles walks without fuss. With gentle guidance and continued exposure, he will continue to improve. He is the kind of dog who will unfold slowly, and for the right person, he will be something truly special.
