Meet Skipper!
Skipper's world was turned upside down when his owner could no longer care for him and his friend, Nola. While we never had the chance to meet his owner, we do know he was a veteran, and we would love nothing more than to honor him by helping make sure his beloved dogs find the loving homes they deserve. Skipper is around 5 years old, weighs about 40 pounds, and is simply a really good boy. He keeps his kennel clean, walks beautifully on a leash, and already knows some of the important stuff – he sits on command, shakes paws like a gentleman, and is always ready to have a conversation with you. And trust us… this boy has plenty to say! Whether he's telling you about his day in the play yard or reminding you that he'd rather be anywhere but a shelter kennel, Skipper is full of personality and charm. Right now, he can be a little reactive to dogs passing by his kennel, which isn't unusual in a stressful shelter environment. However, he previously lived with a calm female dog, so we are hopeful he may be able to peacefully coexist with the right canine companion after proper introductions. The truth is, Skipper doesn't belong here. He belongs curled up on a couch, following his person around the house, and sharing all of his opinions about life with a family of his own. Training & Support
Skipper can be a little reactive to dogs passing by his kennel. He previously lived with a calm female dog and may be able to peacefully coexist with the right canine companion after proper introductions. He keeps his kennel clean, walks nicely on a leash, and knows "sit" and "shake."
