Meet Rascal — an 8-year-old American Eskimo/Siberian Husky mix with a big heart and a lot of potential! Rascal is a playful, intelligent, and loving boy who still has so much life to live. He can be a bit wary of new people due to his past in a puppy mill, but with patience and consistency, he forms deep bonds and shows affection on his own terms. One of his favorite ways to show he's comfortable is by giving and receiving kisses, a wonderful milestone he's reached! Rascal is very food-motivated and enjoys his meals and chew toys. He's still working on manners like jumping and counter surfing, but he's making great progress. He also has a playful, mischievous streak and enjoys shredding paper, though he redirects well with appropriate toys. Rascal enjoys the company of other dogs and does well with cats.
Ideal Home
Rascal needs a calm home environment and a patient, experienced adopter who understands his past and can help him continue to build confidence. Due to his history and occasional unpredictability with unfamiliar people, he will need a home without children.
Ongoing Health
Rascal is not fully housebroken and has a history of marking behavior indoors. He currently wears a diaper indoors, which has significantly improved the issue, indicating it's a behavioral rather than medical concern. Potential adopters should be comfortable managing this as part of his continued training.

Rascal is highly food-motivated and enjoys treats, which can be used for positive reinforcement. He is working on improving his manners, such as not jumping and counter surfing, and redirects well from shredding paper when offered appropriate toys.
