A little about them
Joe is a 21-pound Terrier mix who is very shy and sensitive after coming from a hoarding situation. He is slowly decompressing and needs a patient home where he can learn that people are kind. Joe is 14 inches at the shoulder, neutered, and still shut down, but every small step forward is a meaningful victory.
Ideal Home
Joe needs a quiet, calm home with adults only, someone home often, and an adopter experienced with fearful dogs. A securely fenced yard is required because Joe is a flight risk. He must have a calm, confident dog in the home to help guide him and build his confidence. He is not suited for apartments, townhomes, or busy homes.
Ongoing Health
Joe is neutered. No diagnosed medical conditions or completed health tests are reported.
Training & Support
Joe is working on house and crate training. He needs slow, gentle introductions to new people and currently cannot walk on a leash without trying to get away. His exercise should be limited to gentle yard time and short decompression walks. He currently plays only with dogs.
