ASTA

Asta is a lively 1-year-old Husky mix with a heart full of affection and a spirit full of adventure! He was brought back to us reluctantly by his previous family, who noted his energetic nature and a slight fondness for drywall. Despite this, Asta is described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate pup who previously did wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and even small animals. He also did well with children and babies in his former home, though he can get overly excited during play and might try to grab clothing. Asta is a smart cookie who knows basic commands and rides well in the car. He was named "Singe" by his finders because of his curious nature around the oven, which resulted in a singed whisker – a reminder that puppies are like curious toddlers who need constant supervision!

Ideal Home

Asta would thrive in a home that can provide him with plenty of engagement and understanding. Given his tendency to get overexcited with small children during play, a home with older children or a family that can manage his exuberance during playtime would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Asta is currently teething, so having a variety of appropriate chew toys available for him is important to redirect this natural behavior.

Training & Support

Asta is a young pup and will benefit from continued training and support. He has been known to jump on people and counters, chew, and can be vocal at times. He was kennel trained and potty pad trained, but will likely need patience and consistency to become fully housebroken. Enrolling Asta in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer is highly recommended to help him learn manners and redirect his chewing habits to appropriate toys.
