Gus is a 2-year-old brindle American Pit Bull Terrier who is all about love! He's outgoing, affectionate, and absolutely convinced he's a lap dog. Gus lives for snuggles, belly rubs, and being as close to his people as possible. His tail hasn't stopped wagging since the day he arrived, and it won't stop until he finds his forever home. What makes Gus truly special is how well-rounded he is. He's great with cats, dogs, kids, and adults – this boy genuinely loves everyone he meets. Whether you have a full, busy household or it's just the two of you, Gus will fit right in and make himself at home immediately. At a perfect medium size, not too big, not too small, he's just right for almost any living situation. If you're looking for a loyal shadow who will follow you from room to room, curl up next to you on the couch, and love you like you've always been his person, Gus is your guy.
Ideal Home
Gus is adaptable and loves everyone, so he should thrive in most homes.
Ongoing Health
Gus has tested heartworm positive and will need to go through treatment before he can be fully cleared. The good news? The rescue is covering the full cost of his treatment, so his adopter won't pay a dime. Heartworm treatment does require a period of rest and restricted activity, so his future family should be prepared to provide a calm, loving environment during his recovery. Gus's neuter appointment is scheduled for 7/2/26.
Training & Support
Gus is great with other dogs, but because he is heartworm positive, any dogs in the household must be current on heartworm prevention. Proof of heartworm prevention will be required prior to adoption. This is a non-negotiable requirement to protect the other animals in your home.
