Sully is a sweet and gentle soul with a heart full of love! He's a handsome Labrador mix, approximately 3-4 years old and weighing about 50 lbs. Sully has a congenital hip condition, and unfortunately, surgery isn't an option. This means he can't be on his feet for extended periods and thrives in a calm, low-activity environment. Despite his condition, Sully adores car rides and is a perfect co-pilot, enjoying the scenery. He's social and friendly, trusts easily, and enjoys being around people and other dogs, though he's not a fan of constant physical affection. Sully has a beautiful smile that makes him look like the happiest dog in the world and will love his family just as deeply. He's ready for a peaceful home where he can rest comfortably, receive affection, and doesn't require much exercise.
Ideal Home
Sully needs a peaceful home where he can rest comfortably and live without the need for much exercise. A home with a fenced backyard is preferred, and families with a genuine intention to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs of rescued animals would be a great fit. He would also benefit from a home with experience in dog behavior and training, or a family willing to hire a trainer.
Ongoing Health
Sully has a congenital hip condition for which surgery is not an option. This requires him to have a calm, low-activity lifestyle.
Training & Support
Sully is not house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this. Patience and understanding are crucial, as rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences. Providing a safe and loving environment, establishing a routine, and clear boundaries will help him feel secure.
