Norma Jeane is an 8ish year old, 10lb poodle girl who is as playful and spunky as they come! Our private vet believes she could be as young as 7 years old, and she certainly acts like a lively, playful gal. Norma LIVES for the ball! Her ideal day would consist of chasing a ball non-stop, with short breaks for naps. She is wonderful with people, especially young children who are respectful around dogs. She follows the 4-year-old human child in her foster home everywhere and they play ball together. She is very sweet to other people, but she is not a cuddler – she wants to play or be independent. Norma has not exhibited any separation anxiety and is non-destructive when left to roam freely. She is also great in the car and loves looking out the window. She coexists perfectly with the 3 other large dogs in her foster home, acting as if they aren't there.
Ideal Home
Norma Jeane would thrive with an adopter who wants to play fetch with her at least 4 times a day. She is not looking for a dog that will want to cuddle, but rather an awesome sidekick who is game for anything. She would be fine living with another dog, but prefers laid-back companions and does not like super energetic dogs that get in her space. She would also be perfectly content as a solo dog.
Ongoing Health
Norma Jeane successfully completed heartworm injections. She was not able to be spayed prior to treatment as heartworm treatment was the priority. Wags will work with the adopter on an appropriate spay date prior to leaving the rescue.
Training & Support
Norma Jeane is not 100% potty trained. If a back door is left open, she will do her business outside. However, if she isn't being watched and the door is closed, she may have an accident inside. She has not yet mastered signaling her humans when she needs to potty. She does very well in her crate and never has accidents there, which is a great option when her human isn't home.
