Meet Norman!
Norman is a snuggly, four-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever/American Pitbull Terrier mix who weighs in at 73 pounds. With his unique tortilla chip-shaped ears and a heart as big as his frame, Norman is sure to steal your own! He's known as the "velvet hippo" for his gentle and goofy nature. Norman lives for cuddles, comfy dog beds, and spending quality time with his people. He's a classic couch potato with a silly streak, often flopping onto his back to flash a charming grin. Walks, training games, and belly rubs are high on his list of favorite things, and he truly shines when given love and structure. While his routine is flexible, he's happiest when he has someone to nap near and a bit of mental stimulation each day. Norman is crate-trained, house-trained, and knows several commands, including "sit," "stay," "down," and "place," and he's currently mastering "leave it." He responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement and consistency.
Ideal Home
Norman thrives in a calm, structured environment with a secure, fenced yard. He does best without small children.
Ongoing Health
Norman is up-to-date on vaccinations and has been neutered. He is in good health.
Training & Support
Norman is crate-trained, house-trained, and knows several commands. He is currently mastering "leave it." He is selective with dogs and new people and has shown reactivity in certain situations. While he has never displayed people-reactivity inside the home, he requires careful introductions and continued guidance when meeting new people outside. A bite incident occurred in a specific circumstance involving a neighbor, which is not a reflection of his true nature. Continued obedience training and positive reinforcement will help him stay confident and successful on walks. His adoption includes four professional training sessions and a full month of behavioral guidance from a consultant to support a smooth transition.
