About Chance

Meet Chance!

Chance is a seven-year-old Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler mix with a heart of gold and a gentle soul. This handsome large boy, weighing about 95 pounds, has a striking presence with his dark brown and tan coat and soulful eyes. He's a calm and laidback companion who makes every day feel a little more peaceful. Whether he's resting at your feet, supervising kitchen activities, or softly snoring in his crate, Chance's steady companionship is a true gift. He is house-trained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and even has transferable pet insurance to support his continued care. He settles well when left alone and politely lets you know when he needs to go outside.

Ideal Home

Chance thrives in a family environment and does well with children. He truly loves being near his people and appreciates a cozy indoor sleeping space.

Ongoing Health

Chance has recently begun thyroid medication, which has made wonderful positive changes, increasing his energy and playfulness. His coat is also improving, with hair growing back on his tail, indicating the treatment is helping him feel his best.

Training & Support

Chance benefits from clear boundaries and structured routines, especially around food. He is ruled by his nose and enjoys relaxed daily walks, including long "sniffaris." He knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, stay, down, come, roll over, shake, go lay down, walk fast, and time for bed. He is not a frequent barker, though he will offer a big alert if someone approaches. He is compatible with other dogs and cats, and currently coexists peacefully with neighborhood cats, even sharing playful moments with them.
