Rufus

Rufus is a sweet German Shepherd mix puppy, around 10-12 weeks old, who was found alone and scared on the streets. He was underweight, had a bloated belly, and was suffering from sarcoptic mange. Thankfully, mange is treatable, and we expect Rufus to make a full recovery. Despite his rough start, he has a resilient spirit and is ready to learn that people can be kind and loving. He needs a patient and gentle approach to help him overcome his fear and build trust.

Ideal Home

Rufus needs a home that understands he is fearful of people and will provide him with a calm and stable environment. A home without young children might be best as he adjusts, allowing him to build confidence at his own pace.

Ongoing Health

Rufus is being treated for sarcoptic mange, which is contagious but very treatable. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Training & Support

Rufus is currently not house-trained and will need consistent training and positive reinforcement. Due to his fear of people, he will need gentle guidance and socialization to help him become a well-adjusted and confident dog.
