Meet Slade! This handsome chocolate Lab is just shy of 2 years old and has striking ember eyes. Slade has a lot of drive and is looking for a special family who is experienced with working breeds and understands their high energy levels. He truly shines in one-on-one settings where his focus is impressive, but he's still a young, enthusiastic boy who sometimes gets carried away by his playful nature when there are distractions. Slade is eager to engage and learn, and with consistent training and structure, he has all the potential to become an incredible companion.
Ideal Home
Slade would thrive in an active home that can provide:
- Consistent training and clear boundaries
- Plenty of physical exercise
- Mental stimulation and structured activities
- An experienced handler who understands working-drive dogs
Ongoing Health
Slade is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, and has been spayed/neutered, treated for flea and heartworm prevention, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Slade's leash manners are decent, but he'll need continued work on his heel command. He knows "sit" and "down," especially with treats, though he can show a bit of a stubborn streak. With consistent reinforcement, structure, and positive training, Slade has all the potential to grow into an incredible companion. Our team has spent countless hours with him, learning his quirks and personality, and we provide him with behavior and medical care to prepare him for adoption. He receives socialization through playgroups and one-on-one bonding time, where we also work on his skills.

Transportation
Slade is available for transportation in VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN & OH, with predetermined pick-up locations and times. Private custom transport routes and destinations are available upon request with financial responsibility on the adopted family. For those picking up at our Angleton, Texas location, there is a $75 fee. Transportation ranges from $100-500. Our transport vehicles are equipped with air conditioning for comfort and onboard attendants providing 24-hour care. You can follow along on your pet's journey through a private Facebook Event page with photos, updates, and communication. Our Adoption Coordinator will help find the closest transport pick-up location to you.
