Meet Raya!
Raya's story is one of resilience and unwavering loyalty. We'll never forget the day she refused to leave her sibling's side on the median of a busy highway, waiting patiently until a volunteer could bring her to safety. That heartbreaking moment marked the beginning of her new, hopeful life. Today, Raya is a happy, athletic, and incredibly funny young girl who bounces through life with joy. When she gets the zoomies, she hops like a deer, a sight that's sure to bring a smile to your face.
She thrives on adventure, eagerly joining in on walks, car rides, and hikes. A fenced yard is a must for Raya, as it's her favorite place to explore and burn off energy. Once her adventures are done, Raya's top priority is being close to her people. She loves to snuggle on the couch and dreams of slowly taking over your bed. She's seeking a family that wants their dog to be an integral part of their daily life.
Ideal Home
Raya would do best as the only dog in the home, especially for out-of-state adopters whose resident dogs can't meet her in person. She requires slow, positive introductions with new people and dogs, but once she trusts, she is incredibly affectionate and loyal. A cat-free home is essential, as cats are a little too exciting for her. She also needs a home where she isn't left alone for 8-10 hours a day, as she experiences some separation anxiety and benefits from a crate when needed.
Ongoing Health
All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and microchipped.
Training & Support
Raya needs slow, positive introductions to new people and dogs. She benefits from a crate when left alone to help with separation anxiety.

Transporation
Raya is currently in South Mississippi. We welcome local and out-of-town adopters. For out-of-town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. Transports run every 2-3 weeks to the city on this listing.
