Sentry is a 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix, weighing around 40 pounds and expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued with his mother, Wanda, and siblings from a rural area outside of Houston, Texas. Sentry is a happy, affectionate, and playful puppy who loves cuddles, playing with his siblings, and going for walks. He's great with people and other dogs, and has done well around children. He is potty trained and eager to learn, with ongoing leash skills and basic obedience practice. Sentry is outgoing and friendly, always ready to make a new friend and soak up attention.
Ideal Home
Sentry would thrive in a home that can provide continued socialization and positive reinforcement to help him mature into a well-rounded adult dog. We prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to act as a mentor. If you do not currently have a dog, please provide a plan for continued socialization, such as training classes, playdates, or supervised daycare. Because Sentry is still young, we prefer a home where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Sentry is potty trained and is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience. He is eager to learn and will benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice. Continued socialization is very important for his development.
