Valerie

I’m Valerie, a sweet and gentle 4½-year-old pit mix weighing about 46 pounds. My journey began with a difficult rescue from a euthanasia list while pregnant and scared, but I persevered and found safety in a loving foster home where I raised my puppies. This experience only made me stronger and more loving. I'm a quick learner and clearly have prior pet experience, as I know how to sit for treats, enjoy car rides, and walk politely on a leash. A 9-year-old child can comfortably walk me.

Ideal Home

Valerie would thrive in a home where she can be the sole focus of your affection. She needs a quiet environment away from loud noises like fireworks and thunderstorms, where she can feel safe and secure. Due to past experiences, Valerie does not do well with other dogs or cats and needs to be the only pet in the household.

Ongoing Health

Valerie is heartworm negative, spayed, and up-to-date on vaccinations. She was on Simparica Trio for heartworm prevention and tolerated it well.

Training & Support

Valerie is leash, crate, and house-trained. She responds well to gentle corrections and is eager to please. Her foster family found her to be very receptive to training.

Transporation

Valerie is currently located in Burkesville, KY. We are able to arrange transport to other states to help her find her perfect match. A fee may apply if volunteer transport is not available.
