Maya

Maya is a loving, intelligent, obedient, and playful girl with a heart full of joy! She's a mix of Labrador and Creole, about a year old and weighing around 30 lbs. Maya was rescued in March 2024, having been found with her siblings in a field. She's energetic and sociable with people, children, and other dogs, enjoying playtime, walks, and lots of affection. While a little shy at first, she quickly warms up and will melt in your arms once she feels comfortable. She's also dog and cat friendly, docile, loyal, and sure to bring tons of fun into your life! Maya is already crate and leash trained.

Ideal Home

Maya would thrive in an active home with a securely fenced backyard where she can explore and play. She's looking for families who enjoy outdoor activities and have an open mind about the needs and behaviors of rescued animals. Experience with dog training and behavior, along with high tolerance and patience, are a must, as she will need ongoing guidance and education.

Ongoing Health

Maya has a comprehensive health protocol. She is spayed/neutered and has received her DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, as well as Bordetella. She has been dewormed and microchipped. Maya tested negative for heartworm and has had a 4DX test. She receives monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention with Nexgard Spectra. A health certificate is available.

Training & Support

While Maya is crate and leash trained, it's important to understand that rescued dogs may not be house-trained and may require an adjustment period. Patience and understanding are key as she settles into her new environment.

• Please complete our online application thoroughly so we can find the perfect match for your lifestyle and family dynamic.
• Following application review, we'll conduct a phone/email interview.
• A home check (virtual or in-person) will be scheduled.
• A virtual meet-and-greet with Maya and her foster will be arranged.
• If all parties agree, an adoption contract will be provided, potentially including a trial adoption period.

Transportation

Maya is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transport to the adopter's home address is available.
