Sasha

Sasha is a beautiful hound mix who is a total lovebug, adoring attention and wanting nothing more than to be near her people. After recently finishing her job as a devoted mama to a litter of puppies, she's now ready to find a forever home where she can soak up all the love she deserves. She came to us with her two brothers after living with many other dogs. We believe Sasha spent most of her time outside before coming to us, so she isn't quite familiar with being in a home environment, but she has recently had the chance to learn more about what that's like. In her previous foster home, she showed us she's quite agile and loved to jump onto tables to explore. Her hound nose also led her to get into things she shouldn't, so she had to be kenneled at night. While she wasn't a fan of going into her kennel, she would calm down and sleep once inside. Like most hounds, she loves to hear herself "sing" at random times, so a home without shared walls would be best. She's done well in playgroups and loved playing with her foster siblings.

Ideal Home

Sasha would thrive in a home without cats or livestock, as she views them as fun toys. A home with older children who have experience with energetic dogs like her would be ideal, as her energy and strength were overwhelming for younger children. A home without shared walls is recommended due to her love for "singing."

Training & Support

Sasha needs continued work on her leash skills, as she will pull if she catches the scent of or is alerted to smaller animals. She also needs continued training on not jumping on furniture. She will need a patient family to help her learn the ropes of living in a loving home and new basic skills.
