About Nona
Nona is a delightful 1-year-old, 50 lb spayed female Staffie mix who is currently being fostered in Austin, TX. She's in her "older puppy era," and her charming personality is really starting to shine! Nona is playful and confident, soaking up the world and learning to be the best girl she can be. She's built like a little tank with a short, sturdy frame and an adorably front-heavy build. Watching her proudly hop onto the couch or sprint after her longer-legged foster siblings is a joy. Despite her low-rider status, she's fast and loves to zoom around the backyard with her favorite toys, greeting her foster mom with enthusiastic leaps when she returns home.
Nona is all sweetness and playfulness. She enjoys being near her people and is happy to tag along wherever you go. When excited, her whole body wiggles, and her tail wags furiously. She loves meeting new friends, from strolls downtown to meeting other dogs and friendly strangers. She recently met a young child and did wonderfully. She has a lovable stubborn streak that adds to her charm. Nona is incredibly clever and enjoys problem-solving, weaving through obstacles like a pro. She's highly motivated by toys and treats, making training fun. She has mastered "sit" and is working on her leash manners. She enjoys walks of up to 2-3 miles, taking in all the sights and smells. While she may not love car rides, she's a delightful companion once she arrives. Nona is fully crate trained, especially overnight, and settles in beautifully. She's doing great with potty training and just needs continued reinforcement. She's also a bit of a shy watchdog and will alert you to anything unfamiliar. One of her most irresistible features is her adorable underbite, which makes her goofy expressions even cuter.
Ideal Home
Nona is dog-friendly and gets along well with her foster siblings. She'd do best with a canine companion who is respectful of personal space and happy to share the spotlight. While Nona hasn't been around cats or kids in a home setting, we believe she would thrive in a calm home with respectful, well-mannered children who understand how to interact with an older puppy. She'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one-and-only companion.
Ongoing Health
Nona is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Nona has mastered "sit" and is continuing to work on her leash manners. She is fully crate trained and doing well with potty training. She can be a bit of a shy watchdog.
