About Mojo

Mojo is an 8½ year old male German Shepherd with a comeback story that is truly impressive. He and his Mom were living abandoned in a pen in squalor, eating rats to survive. Mojo came to us in 2024 with his mom, and both of them were in physically poor condition and dealing with severe genetic hip issues. Mojo was almost crippled when he arrived. Walking was painful and his movement was limited. We moved forward with bilateral hip surgeries, and the results were nothing short of remarkable. The surgeries were successful, and Mojo is now living his best life. He runs like a fiend and clearly has a lot to say about making up for lost time. Mojo is wonderful with people and genuinely enjoys human company. He is affectionate, gentle, and a complete love sponge once he bonds with you. He is also good with other dogs, with the important caveat that his canine friends need to be respectful. He has had two hip surgeries and does not need anyone body slamming him in the name of friendship. Polite dog companions only, please. Similarly, kids over 10 who understand that dogs are not ponies are best.

Ideal Home

Mojo needs a securely fenced yard and a home where significant stair walking won't be required. He gets around well, but fewer stairs would be ideal. Cats are a firm no for Mojo, as are any small animals. Kids over 10 who understand how to interact with dogs are best.

Ongoing Health

Mojo has undergone bilateral hip surgeries.

Training & Support

Mojo is well-mannered, housebroken, and very easy to live with in the home. He knows how to settle, relax, and enjoy being part of a household.
