Meet Pretzel! This handsome brindle boy, estimated to be around 1-2 years old and weighing about 72 lbs, is a big bundle of love with a heart full of sweetness. His independently operating ears are just the beginning of his charming quirks, which also include a cartoon-worthy head tilt and a wiggly presence that's guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Pretzel is eager, smart, and responsive, always looking to his person for guidance. He’s a people-oriented dog who adores connection and leans into affection. Think of him as a puppy in a large body – he gets excited and may occasionally jump or get a bit mouthy when overjoyed, but he’s always gentle and playful. With a treat in hand and clear direction, he’s a quick learner and a master of new skills in no time.
Ideal Home
Pretzel would thrive in a home with a confident handler who can provide consistent structure and redirection. He would also benefit from sharing his home with a medium-energy dog who can help him learn appropriate social boundaries.
Ongoing Health
Pretzel is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has been tested for heartworm and treated if necessary. He is also microchipped with free lifetime registration.
Training & Support
Pretzel is learning to manage his excitement, especially on leash and when meeting new dogs. He can be strong and enthusiastic on leash, and a bit pushy with other dogs as he’s still learning social cues. He responds well to clear corrections and guidance. He knows how to sit and is highly food motivated, making training both effective and fun. He has shown promising curiosity with cats and has been a perfect gentleman with the resident cat. Continued work on manners, redirection, and consistency will help Pretzel become an even more well-rounded companion.
