Flora is a 3-year-old, spayed female Carolina Dog mix weighing 46 pounds. She's a playful and energetic girl who loves to wrestle and be chased, and would do best with a canine companion of similar size and energy. Flora has experience playing with dogs of various sizes and enjoys interacting with other dogs, like licking her friend Furman's face. She's a total love bug and enjoys snuggling, going for walks, and sunbathing. Flora is smart, loves learning new tricks, and is very affectionate. She's housebroken and does well when left unsupervised outside of a crate, though she has shown some anxiety when crated at home. She is also a good traveler in the car!
Ideal Home
Flora would thrive in a moderately active home with someone who is often around, enjoys walks or jogs, and will play fetch with her. A home with no other pets or a well-balanced dog of similar age, size, and energy level would be ideal. She needs an owner who will continue positive reinforcement to help with her anxiety around new people and dogs. She is nervous of new children and tends to bark at strangers, especially if they move quickly, so an adult household might be best at this time. Flora is terrified of storms and will seek shelter when they occur.

Training & Support

Transporation
Flora is currently in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS. She can be transported out of state once an adopter is approved. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be placed on the next available transport after approval.
