Darius

Darius is a delightful 9-month-old chocolate boy with a heart full of love to give! He's the perfect blend of cuddly companion and playful pup. Darius had a rough start in life, having been rescued from a hoarding situation where he didn't get much human interaction. Because of this, he can be a little shy and unsure when meeting new people, often taking a moment to sniff and observe before approaching. But with a little patience and understanding, he blossoms into the sweetest, most affectionate dog! He adores getting scritches and loves to be by your side. Darius also enjoys playing with toys and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He's mastered housetraining and is generally good about his crate once he's settled in. He's a treat-motivated learner and is working on his manners. Darius sleeps soundly through the night in his dog bed. His only "quirk" is his enthusiastic greetings; he's a big, strong boy and doesn't always realize his own strength, sometimes jumping up in excitement. We're actively working on teaching him gentler greetings. If you're looking for a loving and loyal companion to add sweetness to your life, Darius is your guy!

Ideal Home

Darius would thrive in a home that understands his need for a little time to warm up to new people. His exuberance means he might overwhelm very small children with his enthusiastic greetings, so a home with older children or adults would be best.

Ongoing Health

Darius's adoption fee of $200 includes his spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if applicable), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. Darius is eligible for a two-week trial period.

Training & Support

Darius is learning manners and we are working on his enthusiastic greetings. Patience and consistent positive reinforcement will help him continue to grow and succeed.
