BAXTER (Gorgeous Low Shedding Boy, Loving, Sweet, Good with Kids & Dogs)

Baxter is a handsome, scruffy Irish Wolfhound/Giant Schnauzer mix with a sweet, loving personality. This 80-pound boy enjoys snuggling with his humans, playing with squeaky toys, and playing fetch. He is independent, curious, happy, and ready to be an adventure partner and relaxing evening companion.

Baxter was abandoned with another dog and rescued before being euthanized. He is now thriving in foster care and showing what a wonderful dog he is.

Ideal Home

Baxter gets along with other dogs, especially female dogs, and currently lives with children ages 3 and 5. Because he does not always realize how large he is, older children may be a better fit. He is curious about cats and chickens, so a home without them would be best.

He would enjoy a family that likes outdoor adventures, exploration, and plenty of companionship. His wiry coat is very low-shedding and well suited to cooler weather.

Ongoing Health

Baxter is neutered, microchipped, and current on all vaccines. He takes Credelio for flea and tick prevention and Interceptor Plus for heartworm prevention. He is scheduled for a full veterinary checkup to obtain a health certificate before travel.

Training & Support

Baxter is crate trained and house trained. He is learning to walk on a leash and enjoys having room to run, sniff, explore, and investigate. He settles down and relaxes after an active day, is not destructive, and has not been a habitual chewer. He sits calmly for baths and enjoys drinking from a garden hose.
