Chicky

Chicky is a 3-year-old, 30 lb Beagle mix with a heart full of love to give, but she's looking for a very specific kind of home. Her journey started pretty rough; she was found as a stray and was initially terrified of the world around her. It took patience, consistency, and love to earn her trust, and now she's blossomed into an affectionate and devoted pup who will fiercely love and protect the people she trusts. She's house and kennel trained and ready to settle into a family willing to see the incredible dog behind her fears. Ideal Home

Chicky would do best with an adopter who has experience with reactive or behaviorally sensitive dogs and understands how to manage introductions, read canine body language, and continue building her confidence. She needs a low-traffic home with few visitors, where life is predictable and she won't be overwhelmed by a constant stream of new faces. A calm, patient household is essential because she still requires slow, thoughtful introductions to unfamiliar people. Young children wouldn't be a good fit, but a home with playful canine companions would be wonderful—Chicky absolutely loves to run, wrestle, and play with other dogs. She's also great with cats!

Ongoing Health

All dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian and arrive spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped.

Training & Support

Chicky needs adopters who understand how to manage introductions, read canine body language, and continue building her confidence.

Transporation

This dog is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. Local adoption fee for pick up in Gulfport, MS is $75. If you want the dog transported to New Orleans or Pensacola, the total fee is $100.
