About Loki

Loki is a 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix, weighing about 40 pounds, and expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued with his mother and siblings from a wooded area outside of Houston and has grown up in a loving foster home. Loki is a fearless and adventurous pup, always the first to explore and quick to announce his presence. He's a playful climber and loves a good game of keep-away with his toys. While energetic, he's also settling into becoming a wonderful companion. Loki is potty trained, though occasional accidents may happen as he adjusts to a new home. He can be a little hesitant with new experiences but quickly overcomes it. He's very food motivated and loves to be at the front of the line for treats. Despite his playful antics, Loki has a sweet side and enjoys snuggling after a day of adventures. He loves people and other dogs and has greeted children positively. He has experience with crates but is not crated for extended periods due to his age. He has not yet been tested with cats. Loki is still learning leash skills and basic obedience but is eager to learn. He needs a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him mature.

Ideal Home

Loki thrives in an active home that can provide ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice. We prefer a home with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor him. If you don't have another dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization. We also prefer homes where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.

Ongoing Health

No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.

Training & Support

Loki is potty trained but may have occasional accidents in a new environment. He is still practicing his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Continued socialization, positive reinforcement, and consistency are key to his success.
