Meet Poppy, a delightful 3-year-old, 47 lb brindle beauty with the most expressive ears and a heart full of love. Poppy's journey began on the streets of Houston, Texas, where she was found alone and without care. She found herself in an overcrowded shelter, and despite her sweet nature, she was repeatedly overlooked. Fortunately, a loving foster family stepped in and gave her the second chance she so richly deserved. It's been over a year, and Poppy is still dreaming of her forever home. She absolutely adores people and greets everyone with the enthusiasm of a long-lost friend. Poppy currently resides in an apartment with another dog and gets along wonderfully. She is content to rest peacefully in her kennel when her foster dad is away. She's house-trained and doesn't engage in destructive chewing. Poppy thrives on activity; her foster dad ensures she gets regular walks and visits to the dog park, where she joyfully plays chase and makes new canine friends. She's also a great travel companion and rides calmly in the car. Poppy has interacted well with children, but due to her energetic spirit, we believe she'd be happiest in a home with older children, aged 12 and up. She offers the perfect blend of playful exuberance and affectionate sweetness and is eagerly awaiting her next chapter with a family to call her own.
Ideal Home
Poppy would do best in a home with older children, around 12 years and up, who can appreciate and match her playful energy.
