Smokey

Meet Smokey! This handsome 2-year-old, 56-pound neutered Lab mix is a bundle of fun, ready to bring joy to his forever family. He's fully vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on all preventatives, making him all set for his new adventure. Smokey is a playful, smart, and delightfully silly boy with a moderate energy level. He enjoys friendly roughhousing with other dogs but is also good at reading cues and settling down. He's friendly when meeting new dogs and would truly shine with a confident, playful canine companion to guide him. Smokey has been around children while crated and remained calm during their visits. He can be okay with cats, showing curiosity and sometimes initiating play, but other times he's unbothered. He's a social and happy guy who greets new people warmly, offering a small bark to announce visitors.

Ideal Home

Smokey would thrive in a moderately active home with a patient family and a friendly dog companion. He needs a home where he can be crated when left alone (no longer than 9 hours) as he can be rambunctious and an escape artist.

Ongoing Health

Smokey is up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives.

Training & Support

Smokey is still learning basic manners and needs patient training, especially on leash. He does best with a harness but can still be a handful. While he dislikes the crate initially, he settles once inside. He views almost everything as potentially edible, so supervision and training will be important. He sleeps through the night without stirring.

Transporation

Transports run every few weeks. Your approved dog will be on the next available transport.
