Big John is an 11-month-old male Great Dane who is a total sweetheart and a gentle giant! He loves to be close to his people, whether that means leaning on them, sitting beside them, or lying at their feet. He's a big baby who enjoys carrying toys around the house and playing fetch. He's also well-behaved, house-trained, and crate-trained, though he does need a little encouragement with treats to head into his crate when you're gone for extended periods. He's friendly with people and other dogs, and enjoys walks and playtime. He can drool a bit when he drinks water and may pull on the leash when excited by squirrels, but he rides well in the car with a little coaxing. He's looking for an active family who understands his size and can provide him with the exercise he needs to be his best self.

Ideal Home

Big John would thrive in an active home with another dog. He needs a family that understands his XXL size and can provide him with plenty of exercise and attention. He does not do well with cats.

Ongoing Health

Big John is neutered and microchipped.

Training & Support

Big John knows how to "sit." He can pull a little on walks when he sees a squirrel, and he needs regular exercise to be on his best behavior. Due to his size, further training is recommended, especially if you don't have experience with XXL breeds. He needs a crate that is at least 44 inches high.
