Nona

Nona is a delightful 1-year-old, 50 lb spayed female Staffie mix who is blossoming into her own unique personality. She has the playful energy of a puppy but is growing more confident and learning to channel her joy into being the best companion. Nona is a sturdy girl with a compact build, and it's a joy to watch her enthusiastically zoom around the yard with her favorite toys and greet her people with an excited leap. She's a sweet and affectionate dog who loves to be near her humans, wiggling her whole body and wagging her tail when she's happy. Nona enjoys meeting new friends and has been practicing her social skills in various environments. She's a clever and funny girl with a charming stubborn streak, who loves to figure things out and will affectionately nibble your chin when excited. She's also known to proudly offer her toys for sharing, sometimes even directly to your mouth! Nona is highly motivated by toys and treats, making training sessions rewarding. She has mastered "sit" and is working on her leash manners, enjoying walks of up to 2-3 miles. While she may not love car rides, she's a delightful companion once she arrives at her destination.

Ideal Home

Nona would do well in a home with a confident canine companion who is respectful of personal space and happy to share attention. She has previously done wonderfully with a child and, based on her personality, we believe she would do well in a calm home with respectful, well-mannered children who understand how to interact with an older puppy. She would also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one-and-only furry friend.

Training & Support

Nona is fully crate trained, especially overnight, and settles beautifully. She is also doing great with her potty training and just needs a family willing to continue reinforcing her routine. She can be a bit of a shy watchdog, sounding the alarm if she hears or sees something unfamiliar. She's working on her leash manners and enjoys walks, though she may not love the car ride to get to them.

Transporation

Nona is currently located in Austin, Texas, but can transport out of state when matched with an approved adopter. Transport is included in the adoption donation.
