Meet the breeder
Meet Eileen Gower, BayKings Cavaliers. Eileen Gower resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia and, when not out in our gardens, breeds Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Effective immediately, my new email address is: baykingscavaliers@gmail.com. Email us if you are interested in having one of our Cavvy kids, and we will send you our application/questionnaire. For any questions, or if you just want to chat about Cavaliers, call Eileen at 757-362-7398. Our kennel is our home, our breeding bitches are our pets, our whelping pen is in our bedroom and our puppies grow and thrive in a stimulating pen in our family room that is full of gymnastic and play equipment designed to provide strength, agility and mental development to match the loving attention we give them. They are given U.S. Army research developed exercises for puppies when just days old to stimulate their neurological development. At three weeks old, we start training them to a potty pan that becomes their lifelong option, especially in inclement weather. They are exposed to all sorts of surfaces, all kinds of music (from classical to rock to soft jazz to Latin to country/folk to (dog favorite) reggae), and all kinds of sounds (e.g., loud and sharp, soft and soothing, extreme weather, congested traffic, emergency vehicles, airplanes/helicopters, birds and animals, babies crying and children at play). As soon as it is safe, we socialize them with different people of all ages, sizes and appearances. The result is puppies that seem to say, "Nothing and nobody bothers me!" They are surrounded by their older siblings of earlier litters, as well as our Blue Russian cat, taking over for our recently passed Chinchilla Persian cat who, for 20 years, was around as part of our family. We encourage visits to see and play with our puppies before making a decision to adopt a new family member, and welcome "return to the nest" visits for puppy play dates and people to fill us in on their progress and experiences. Email or Facebook reports with pictures are a must, to let us follow our developing progeny, and requests for guidance are expected and gladly answered, whether by phone or internet. We would be remiss to fail to mention pedigrees and show results, as we have many champions in our lines. The price includes AKC registration and three generation pedigree, the first two in the series of beginning three vaccines, a packet of important information including recommended new puppy supplies and expert advice on multiple subjects concerning puppy care, and useful new puppy gifts. AKC proudly supports dedicated and responsible breeders. We encourage all prospective puppy owners to do their research and be prepared with questions to ask the breeder. Make sure you are not only choosing the right breed for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right individual.
