Meet Hugh, a 3-year-old Doberman with gorgeous floppy ears and a big heart!

This handsome cuddle bug is the definition of a gentle giant. He loves leaning in close for snuggles, giving sweet kisses, and soaking up all the affection you're willing to give. Hugh is eager to please and thrives on connection, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, loving best friend. He's also super treat motivated and loves learning new commands and tricks. So far he knows his name, sit, stay, and down, and he's working on "watch" and "leave it." He walks well on leash and knows "heel," happily greeting other dogs and people. He is reactive to cars when out on walks or riding in a car and will bark and lunge at them. Because he's a quick learner, we think with consistent training, he'll be able to overcome this. Given his size, he needs a strong handler to keep hold of him when he's reactive.

Ideal Home

Hugh would be happiest in a home where his people are around most of the time while he works on his separation anxiety. He would also love a home with a secure yard or where he's able to get out regularly for walks. He needs a strong handler to manage his car reactivity.

Ongoing Health

Hugh is potty trained and crate trained.

Training & Support

Hugh is working on "watch" and "leave it" commands. He is reactive to cars and will bark and lunge at them, requiring a strong handler. He is also experiencing some separation anxiety.
