Alder

Alder is a shy but friendly 3-year-old gentleman who dreams of a loving forever home. He came to us from Texas, where he was part of an overwhelming stray dog population. Thankfully, Alder is one of the lucky ones who made it out and is now ready to find his family! He craves affection and attention, and while he's still figuring out how to express his excitement, we're sure he'll master the "Pyr paw" in no time.

Ideal Home

Alder would do best in a home with a calmer, playful dog who can help him learn how to socialize. He's a bit protective of his food after his time on the streets, so he'll need to be fed separately from other dogs. He's pretty mild-mannered, so a home with children who are past the screeching years would likely be fine. A fenced yard would be ideal, but he does walk well on a leash, so a home without one is acceptable as long as you're committed to daily walks. Please note that Alder likely won't stay close to home if allowed to wander freely outdoors.

Alder is a healthy boy.

Training & Support

Alder is still learning how to interact with other dogs and may need some guidance in this area. He is also protective of his food, so separate feeding is recommended. With patience and love, Alder will surely blossom and become a confident companion.
